FEATURING
Yaletown-Vancouver, BC
Yaletown is located on the False Creek's waters edge of downtown Vancouver, where once situated a rundown warehouse district of Vancouver. Its rebirth started in the late 1980's, and has gradually transformed into a trendy urban community comprising a mix of residential, office, restaurants, boutiques, cafes, and more. Yaletown got its name in the 19th century when the Canadian Pacific Railroad moved its rail yards and repair facilities from Yale, in the Fraser River canyon, to the new Yaletown on the north shore of False Creek.Known to many as Vancouver’s little Soho. Impeccably hip, Yaletown is brimming with quality restaurants, boutiques, and galleries. It is a neighbourhood to see and-be-seen. A seven block area bound by Nelson, Homer, and Drake Sts and Pacific Blvd. Hamilton and Homer Sts, Yaletown retains the red brick charm of its history as a 19th century rail yard. Warehouses have been converted into lofts and railway loading docks now serve as patio space for martini bars.

Gastown-Vancouver, BC
Established the same year that Canada became a nation, Gastown grew into Canada’s third largest city and one of its most cosmopolitan. But the Gastown district today retains its historic charm, independent spirit and distinctiveness. There’s no mistaking Gastown for any other area of Vancouver, or of Canada for that matter. As with most historical areas in major cities around the world Gastown has been subjected to cycles of growth, importance, vibrancy, neglect and rebirth. We are now entering a new period of development that encompasses the historical, cultural and commercial perspectives. A welcome addition playing a role in this particular cycle is the inclusion of a burgeoning resident population calling Gastown its home. Gastown is now becoming a community as well.

West End-Vancouver, BC
The West End of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is on the downtown peninsula neighbouring Stanley Park and the areas of Yaletown, Coal Harbour and the downtown financial and central business districts. The definition of the "official neighbourhood" of the West End, according to the city, is the area west of Burrard Street, east of Denman Street, and south of West Georgia Street. The West End became Vancouver's first upscale neighbourhood, home to the richest railroad families. Many of these families lived along Georgia Street, known at that time as "Blue Blood Alley" for all the posh mansions built there. Later mansions (including the Davie mansion) were built in then remoter areas of the West End as the financial district's land values displaced the high-toned residences. West End residents have been very active in shaping their neighbourhood and maintaining its liveability. Many restaurants and shops can also be found along Denman Street closer to Stanley Park, and Davie Street adjacent to the South Slope neighbourhood. The area is also known for English Bay Beach, a large park on English Bay which is thronged during the annual Celebration of Light fireworks display each year mid-summer. St. Paul's Hospital, one of Vancouver's largest and oldest health facilities, sits at the neighbourhood's eastern edge on Burrard Street.

Coal Harbour-Vancouver, BC
Coal Harbour is the name for a section of Burrard Inlet lying between Vancouver, Canada's downtown peninsula and the Brockton Peninsula of Stanley Park. It is also in recent years the name of the neighbourhood adjacent to its southern shoreline, which was redeveloped as an upscale high-rise condominium district in the 1990s. The harbour is bounded by the Financial District to the south and Stanley Park to the north. The name Coal Harbour is also used to designate a relatively new official neighbourhood of the City of Vancouver. The neighbourhood is bounded to the southeast by Burrard Street, to the southwest by West Georgia and Pender Streets, and to the northwest by Stanley Park. The northwestern section features parkland, private marinas, and several rowing and boating clubs. Towards the Financial District in the southeast, and across Georgia Street, the neighbourhood is dominated by high-rise office and apartment buildings.
